While I brought it on myself by not setting up a captcha or enabling moderation of comments my blog has received a moderate amount of comment spam. I’ve disabled commenting for now until I get a script setup to clear by poster name, IP, or comment phrases. I will give the spam bots some credit. While they may be using my comment blocks to post URL’s to gain more attention to those sites they’ve been very flattering to read. I can’t tell you how many comments I’ve received talking up every post. At least they’re not trash talking spam bots right?
